The first center of excellence for visceral surgery in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The German Association for General and Visceral Surgery (DGAV) has awarded the FCCD Clinical Center the status of a Center of Excellence, the first of its kind in North Rhine-Westphalia and one of six existing in Germany.
It's no secret that abdominal hernias are a serious risk factor for life, especially when seeking help late. The advantage of such expert centers specializing specifically in hernia surgery for the patients themselves is undeniable, because it is here that, in addition to the classic “groin hernias”, qualified treatment of complex ventral (postoperative) hernias is provided, minimally invasive and endoscopic procedures are offered in cooperation with plastic surgery.
