The following symptoms or complaints may be a manifestation of gastric carcinoma:

  • "sensitive stomach", often with marked aversion to various foodstuffs (e.g. meat); new-onset intolerance, such as coffee, fruit, and alcohol
  • a feeling of fullness in the stomach, a feeling of pressure and pain in the epigastrium
  • loss of appetite
  • nausea, belching, vomiting (remnants of food eaten the day before may be found in the vomit)
  • weight loss for no apparent reason, decreased performance and weakness
  • anemia (anemia)
  • swallowing disorder
  • bloody vomiting and tarry stools (black, viscous feces with a sickening smell, looks like tar)
  • buildup of fluid in the abdomen (ascites)
