In the early stages, renal carcinomas rarely cause complaints. Therefore, they are almost always discovered incidentally, such as during an ultrasound examination performed for other reasons. Symptoms of tumor growth, which can sometimes indicate kidney cancer, are pain in the side, back, and blood in the urine. Rarely, renal carcinomas as tumors are palpable.

The following symptoms may indicate kidney cancer:

  • Unusual weight loss
  • Lack of appetite
  • Fatigue
  • Anemia (anemia)
  • Persistent or frequent mild fever

In men, a kidney tumor can cause varicose veins in the testicles.
