Breast cancer is 31%, being the most common cancer in women. Since 1980, the number of cases has doubled: now more than 70,000 times a year doctors diagnose women with breast cancer. Men can also get breast cancer, though very rarely: for 115 diseases in women, there is one man.

Although breast cancer is the most common, it is usually not the most dangerous type of cancer in women. Timely detected and treated disease, in most cases is curable.

Today, breast cancer is more successful than it used to be curable - with more targeted and gentle methods.

However, the risk of this disease increases with age. Younger patients are less likely to suffer from breast cancer, and only after 40 years and especially after 50 years the risk increases, and after 70 years it decreases again.

Here, the average age of patients is approximately 64 years, which is several years younger than in other cancers.
