Ovarian cancer is an aggressive tumor and is the second most common malignant disease of the female genital organs.

This is a disease whose incidence increases with age. The great danger of this tumor is that in most cases it is detected too late, because at first there are no manifestations of the disease for a long time. Overt symptoms often appear only in the later stages.

In 2010, ovarian cancer was first detected in Germany in 7,790 women. The risk of getting ovarian cancer sometime in a lifetime is about 1.5 %.
