Modern pediatric urology is a broad and multifaceted discipline that is in close contact with many medical specialties. Pediatric urologists are engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital and acquired pediatric urological diseases of the kidneys and urinary tract, as well as the external genital organs of children and adolescents.

Close collaboration and continuity in the work of urologists involved in pediatric urology and pediatricians ensures that the necessary urological examinations and the necessary treatment in children and adolescents are carried out using sparing methods, taking into account the peculiarities of the development of their body and psyche.

The clinic performs the most complex operations to correct the most severe malformations of the urinary system in children. If surgical treatment is necessary, the operation can be performed using the so-called minimally invasive method, i.e. "closed" method, the advantage of which mainly lies in a small skin incision. Such an operation is less traumatic, easier to tolerate by the patient and helps to reduce the length of stay in the hospital.

Examination and treatment of congenital defects of the kidneys, ureters, bladder and external genital organs in newborns, young children and adolescents and physicians guarantees that the necessary urological examinations and the necessary treatment in children and adolescents are carried out using sparing methods, taking into account the developmental features of their body and psyche.

  • Examination and treatment of functional disorders of the upper urinary tract: violations of the outflow of urine, narrowing of the output sections of the ureters, vesico-renal reflux (reverse flow of urine from the bladder to the kidneys)
  • Examination and surgical treatment of tumors in childhood with localization in the retroperitoneal space or in the kidneys
  • Instrumental examination using a laparoscope (abdominoscopy) of the abdominal cavity in children with an incorrect position of the testicles
  • Medical and surgical treatment of malposition of the testicles
  • Surgical treatment of all forms of congenital anomalies of the penis and urinary tract (hypospadias, epispadias) using the skin of surrounding tissues, as well as using so-called free grafts (for example, sections of the oral mucosa)
  • Endoscopic treatment of congenital anomalies of the urinary tract
  • Conservative and surgical treatment of narrowing of the foreskin
  • Examination and treatment of functional disorders of the bladder (children's kidney failure, bedwetting)
  • Examination and treatment of urolithiasis in children
  • Biofeedback therapy (biofeedback method) in the treatment of urinary incontinence due to incorrectly learned behaviors

For urological diagnostics, the clinic has the following technical equipment:

  • State-of-the-art ultrasound machine for imaging the kidneys, bladder, retroperitoneum and vulva
  • Digital x-ray machine for videocystomanometry (videomanometric study of bladder function)
  • Digital X-ray technology with minimal radiation exposure
  • Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (breaking up kidney stones with ultrasonic waves)
  • Magnetic resonance imaging with imaging of the urinary tract
  • Nuclear medical diagnostics to determine the functional ability of each individual kidney
