More than 30% of the population suffers at least once a month from manifestations of gastric reflux (heartburn, belching of acid and air, swallowing disorders, inflammation of the larynx and bronchi).
Due to incomplete closure of the esophageal-gastric sphincter (hernia of the esophageal part of the diaphragm), acidic gastric contents enter the esophagus (overweight, malnutrition). Taking certain medications can also cause the sphincter to close insufficiently. As a result, inflammation, narrowing (stenosis), bleeding, swallowing disorders, and even malignant tumors can occur.
Avoid strong alcohol, smoking.
Thoughtful nutrition, eating foods rich in fiber.
Heartburn, belching with air, violation of the act of swallowing, vomiting, including bloody, weight loss.
Endoscopic examination of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum, the so-called esophagogastroduodenoscopy or EGD. Measurement of the level of acidity of the esophago-gastric region.
Drug treatment with drugs that reduce stomach acid (proton pump inhibitors). Sleep in a semi-sitting position. Expansion of the esophagus (bougienage). Stop bleeding with a laser, surgical treatment according to indications.
